Join us this TUESDAY at NOON in the Green Room to help brainstorm ideas on what we can make happen! Bring your lunch, brain and winter schedule. We’ll start scheduling volunteer times, workshops and events for winter term! Let’s get this thing rolling!

Bring your lunch and your brain! 

Join us for lunch Tuesday, Nov. 22 in the green room to help shape it’s future! Friends of Graphic Design invites you to share your ideas, brainstorm and bolster confidence and leadership by being an important piece of our program and others’ educations.

Our goal is to offer a collection of resources for pre- and post-review students, as well as a means by which critique, help, quick seminars, or etc. can be scheduled. This is your knowledge serving your classmates!

Tuesday’s meeting will be a loosely structured forum, with a few topics that we would like to build on. There will be plenty of opportunities to be engaged after the meeting— if you see an idea you would like to be further involved in, or have one of your own, let us know at the meeting.

How do you scan your images / contrast them / clean them up?

I scan my images into photoshop and then use the “Levels” tool to adjust the black/white until I’m happy with the result. Same if the image is in colour, although that makes it a bit trickier to get the balance right. I just use the good ol’ fashioned eraser tool for any mistakes (although often, I’ll just leave the mistakes in the drawing)

Ian Coyle and Duane King run a creative consultancy based in Portland, Oregon focused on design, culture, and craft. Seemingly separated at birth, they met nearly 10 years into their careers. Their work is dichotomous, with one foot firmly rooted in classics and the other with a penchant for kicking down doors. Together they pick fights, solve problems, and repeatedly break the internet.

Jason Hardy is a Creative Director, Graphic Designer, Musician and Artist. Originally from Nebraska, Jason has lived in Chicago and now resides in San Francisco where he lives with his wife and works as an Associate Creative Director at Odopod.
